3:30 a.m. March 20th, 2008. Rosie (a.k.a. Stikla Run) started to deliver her puppies. And because I can't sleep if I know one of my girls is in labor, I hovered around the kitchen "supervising" but wasn't really needed, other than to record and weigh them as they came. As you can see in the above two photos, Rosie seems pretty happy to be getting started. She's shown with the first puppy, a female. She ended up with three males and three females.
All of the puppies in this litter of six have good double dew claws. Puppy #1 is at left and she weighed 10.9 oz. The 2nd Puppy (center) is a male, who weighed 11.4 oz. The 3rd puppy at right is a male, who weighed 7.9 oz.
Puppies number 4 and 5 were both female, weighing 10 oz and 8.3 oz. The last puppy, born at 5:30 a.m. (below left) is a male, who weighed 9.9 oz.. As you can see by the last photo, Rosie looks a little more tired, but also content. She is a wonderful mom and all six puppies are either nursing vigorously or napping blissfully.
