Leicester Longwool Ewes
OGF 270 "Constance"(3.564%)
(Twin - born 2007)
Lambing record: 1, 2, 1, 1, 0, 1, 2
Constance joined our farm at the age of four years. She decided that she was
"my" girl and it has been so delightful to have her here. When she sees me, she
comes bounding in from the field, or leaves the hay feeder to come greet me at
the gate. She loves to have her back scratched or her ears "scritched."
I just love this ewe! Incidentally, she was shown at Maryland Sheep & Wool
Festival as a yearling and took Champion Ewe that year.
We have kept her 2012 and 2014, and 2015 ewe lambs because this ewe is so
outstanding. Update: Constance has been retired as a pet to a friend here in
Midland where she will not be bred, and can have all the hugs and scratches that
she wants, along with a companion wether. We are so happy she has a good
retirement home. We have much of her great genetics in our flock.
Click on each ewe's underlined name to view her
pedigree. There will be a % number next to each ewe's
name which indicates her inbreeding coefficiency
number. Next to her lamb update, the % number
indicates that coefficiency for her lambs.
Research indicates 6.25% or less is safest, genetically.
JJ Hannah (0%) (b.2009)
Lambing record: ?, ?, 2, 2, 2, 2, 2
This absolutely beautiful ewe is the AI daughter of
England's ram, Parson's Pride. Hannah's 2014 ewe lamb,
Clare, out of Winston remains in the flock. She has an
amazing udder with tons of milk and is easy to milk out
for my soap making.
Update: Hannah had twin ewes on April 21st
JJ Emma (.480%) (b.2010)
Lambing record: 0, 0, 1, 2. 2, 1
Emma is absolutely gorgeous and very calm and sweet to work with.
Emma has had four very nice ram lambs for us in the past two years.
For 2016 we are hoping she has a ewe lamb for us!
Update: Emma had a ewe lamb on May 16th.
