April 17. Early morning walk found Alexa with triplets out of the Mangoson. WOW! There is a black/grey mouflon ram (8 1/2 lbs.) -- he stays here! And she also had a white ram (8 lbs.) and a white ewe (7 3/4 lbs.). All babies are healthy and sturdy and she's doing a great job making sure they all take turns nursing.

April 17. Lottie had her first lamb (she was open as a one winter ewe) this morning. A 9 1/4 lb. ram lamb, flashy grey, very pretty - out of our wonderful Visirson. What a great combination of genetics: Visir, Hunn and Mjaldur! At left he is one hour old and already thinks he should eat mom's hay!
April 19. What a pretty black/grey ewe lamb (9 1/2 lbs!) out of Elska. Her sire is Greyson. Great combination of genetics that include Agnes (great milking line) as the granddam and Hunn, Kunningi and Peli.

April 19. Sesame, our Thettir daughter, had twins this morning out in the field. Unfortunately her first ewe lamb was dead (malpresentation of some sort?), but the 2nd lamb was bouncy and ready to greet the world. She weighed 8 1/4 lbs.and is strong and vigorous and her mama is very attentive. Her sire is Greyson so she carries spotting and black or grey.

April 20. It's great to have such smart ewes, who know to go under shelter in the rain and quietly have their twins unassisted! Luthien had an even matched set of twins (9 lbs. each) this morning, a ram and a ewe out of our awesome Visirson.

April 21. I think Poise learned a lesson this year - not to grow her lambs so big (last year they were 9 lbs. each) You can tell by the yellow on the lamb at left that the birthing process today was not easy. You can see the lambs above the next morning. Big sturdy, broad and long lambs, to be sure. The ewe lambs are out of the Visirson. The girls weighed 11 and 10 lbs.

April 25. A great new mom is "born" today. Ophelia had her first set of lambs, perfect size (ewe 6 3/4 lbs. and ram 7 1/4 lbs.) and she was a very eager and very deteremined new mom, working hard to make sure the lambs were well cleaned off and were getting up to nurse quickly. Their sire is the Karison, so pedigree includes Sedill and Kari! GREAT fleece genetics, as well as milky background from Ophelia's dam.
