April 14. Emily produced a lovely set of healthy twins this morning out of Ragnar. The ram was 8 1/2 lbs. and the ewe was 7 lbs. Great bloodlines combined in these lambs including Blanche as their granddam: Mjaldur, Hunn, Aboti, Sjodur!
April 14. Betty produced a gorgeous set of twins out of Greyson - a black/grey ram (9 lbs.) and a black mouflon ewe (8 lbs.) this morning. This combination blends the genetics of Serkur, Flotti, Hunn and Kunningi. Lambs also carry spotting.
April 14. What a great yearling this is! M'Dear had twin ewe lambs unassisted this afternoon. They were both up and nursing when I got home. Their sire is the Karison so great fleece genetics combined with one of our best matriarch lines. The lambs weighed 7 and 5 lbs.
April 16. Isabella delivered her first lambs early this a.m. Unfortunately the ewe lamb wasn't alive, possibly came breech. The ram lamb is a healthy, bouncy 8 lbs. The sire is our Visirson.
April 16. Mia presented us this morning with her first set of twins. A black ewe lamb (7 3/4 lbs.) and a white ram lamb (6 lbs.). Their sire is the Gaddurson. Mia did a great job!
April 16. Our hardy and fiercely protective Agatha had her lambs this morning also. Their sire is Greyson. She has a 9 lbs. black/grey ewe lamb and a very flashy 9 1/2 lb. homozygous grey ram lamb.
April 16. Yes, Superb is as angry at me as she looks. She was stomping her foot like crazy while I was trying to take a photo of her ewe lamb (weight 5 1/4 lbs.). She did have twins, but the spotted ram lamb was dead. She decided to go to the farthest field to have her lambs and unfortunately she had trouble with some sort of malpresentation with the ram. She also wasn't happy about being dragged into the barn. I like to deworm the ewes as soon as I can after they lamb, and leave them in a pen for at least 24 hours to drop the parasite eggs there, instead of out in the field. Sire is our great ram, Ragnar.
April 16. Five ewes lambed today -- with Moxie finishing up this evening. She had a gorgeous set of matching grey moorit lambs, a ram (9 1/2 lbs) and a ewe (8 lbs.). They were both strong and vigorous and nursing very soon after birth. Their sire is Mangoson.
