Moxie delivered her first lamb -- a VAI lamb out of Iceland fleece ram Kari. Of course, he's white like almost all the AI lambs (F1 generation), but that's ok. He'll carry moorit and possibly grey. He weighed 8 1/2 lbs. and was very strong and vigorous from the start. Because Kari is known as a fleece ram, I chose Moxie for the dam because she is such a well built, muscular ewe (her sire is Tolkis). We are keeping this ram.

Libby delivered this absolutely gorgeous 9 1/2 lb. ram lamb out of the Kunningison. YEAH a colored ram!!! He's black/grey spotted. What a keeper he is. He was a twin, but when the little ewe lamb (very tiny) was delivered, she came out with the entire placenta and her head was small and undeveloped. So she was obviously stillborn and it's hard to tell what went wrong. But this big guy is strong and handsome and he will replace his sire in our flock if he grows out as nice as I expect him to from the combination of genetics that he is the sum of.

It's a girl!!!!! And
VAI lamb at that! This lovely
9 1/2 lb. ewe lamb is out of Iceland ram
Vinur.
Angie did a great job with this lovely beauty. I've already named her Vinna, as that will help me remember who her sire is. Obviously we are keeping this beauty!

Emily wins the prize as the first yearling of the season to lamb. She had a very handsome 7 1/4 lb. ram lamb out of Hokan. He has huge horn buds for this size of a lamb, so I did help her by easing the horn buds out. She was instantly a "mom" which is always such a joy to witness and he knew just how to be a lamb! Great genetics behind this ram -- including Aboti, Hunn, Serkur, Sjodur and our own dear Blanche! This ram lamb is reserved.

Not to be outdone by Emily, our lovely
Pearl delivered this gorgeous solid black ewe lamb who has been named Onyx. She was 8 1/2 lbs. and very vigorous and up and nursing soon. Pearl did a great job and this is the first lamb out of our ram LF241T. We are keeping Onyx in the flock.

What a fun morning surprise.
Haera has had her first set of triplets and what a joy to find three even sized lambs, even if they are ALL rams! (good grief). But healthy and she's a great mom. One ram weighed 7 lbs., the 2nd was 7 1/4 lbs. and the black/grey ram weighed 8 lbs. Their sire is the Kunningison. Great fleece, milk, and meat genetics from this combination. Yeah Haera! Haera's twin daughter from last year had triplets herself this spring as a one winter ewe! So that hidden prolificacy gene is coming through! One white ram is reserved, the grey ram is reserved, and one white triplet is still available.
